ATA Africa Diaspora Tourism Initiative

There is growing evidence that the Africa Diaspora contributes significantly to the development of the continent through a variety of channels, including investing in the continent and encouraging others to invest, entrepreneurism, and knowledge exchange. The Diaspora can also play a critical role in changing perceptions—helping project a positive image of the continent as a whole and each individual nation.

For ATA and its members, the African Diaspora community is a critical and untapped resource in its goal to promote travel and tourism to the African continent. To encourage the participation of the Diaspora communities in the travel, tourism and transport industries, ATA has launched the ATA African Diaspora Initiative. Its goal is to generate momentum and create innovative ways to involve African Diaspora leaders, entrepreneurs and media around the world in activities that lead to tourism promotion to and investment in Africa.
